I attended the Special Centenary Plenary session in the Batasan yesterday i bought the new book called Assembly of the Nation (Not in the Market Yet) which has specific dates of sessions of Congress from the Philippine Assembly to the Present Congress (it even recognized finally the Batasang Bayan as a legislative body) and shows that the 1st Commonwealth Congress were operating from June 9 to December 20, 1945 since the term of Speaker Zulueta was the same

Plus the Batasang Bayan was set up to pave way to Interim National Assembly to the Interim Batasang Pambansa according to the book plus it was backed by the referendum of 1976 and famous historian Manuel L. Quezon III

Why is this here again, anyway? Wasn't it agreed upon that the template be split? --HowardtheDuck 10:24, 13 June 2007 (UTC)reply
The Batasang Bayan is not a formal legislature. It is very clear from the statute which created it, it is only an advisory body. Please refrain from reverting the template from including it.
By the way I got hold of that book too, it doesn't say it's a formal legislature, it also states it as an advisory body to the president. I hope we don't make spurious claims. --

Where did u get an copy since the first copies were only for house officials and dignitaries but my copy i had purchased from the publisher
Rizalninoynapoleon 06:38, 14 June 2007 (UTC)reply
Not exactly my personal copy, but a borrowed one, my best friend is the son of an ambassador from a Latin American country, I was told that not all House Members were provided due to the limited print outs, not even the Library has a copy of it yet. If you were able to obtain from the publisher, kudos to you. But right now as far as the House Publishing department told me, they haven't sold any copy of it yet not even by the publisher. Ü --

By the way Jose Zulueta term as House Speaker was up to December 1945 coinciding with sine die of the 1st Commonwealth Congress so i just adjust the year from 1945-1946 to only 1945

Currently, this template is very big, if we'll split it per period, we can delete this template and just link 5 templates together. --HowardtheDuck 07:37, 14 June 2007 (UTC)reply
But it's so big and unsightly. A template should be easy to navigate about; for example I don't know if the actions of the 1st Phil. Commission has anything to do with of the upcoming 14th Congress. For example:
I'll find a way to shorten the "See also"s. --HowardtheDuck 08:40, 14 June 2007 (UTC) I worked around a solution for this. --HowardtheDuck 09:40, 14 June 2007 (UTC)reply
Im fine with the current, since they all belong to one topic, similar to the US Congresses. --

But the U.S. Congress on 1789 is the direct descendant of this year's Congress. I can't say that to the Malolos Congress and the upcoming 14th Congress. --HowardtheDuck 13:02, 14 June 2007 (UTC)reply
The thing is, what was the U.S. Congress on 1789 is still the U.S. Congress of 2007, with no interruptions and "makeovers." Plus the Batasang Pambansa was a unicameral parliament, the Malolos Congress was a unicameral congress, etc., all of them unique from another. --HowardtheDuck 03:44, 15 June 2007 (UTC)reply
I just like the idea everything is in here, since they are all just one topic, it's easier to navigate this way.--

Actually it is harder since there are too many links about disparate subjects. --HowardtheDuck 13:27, 15 June 2007 (UTC)reply
