This template seems needless clutter, and should be a full article, Tolkien bibliography, Works by J.R.R. Tolkien or similar. Articles on works by JRRT that are just brief substubs ( The Devil's Coach Horses) could be merged into that. dab (𒁳) 08:38, 10 May 2007 (UTC) reply

This was suggested before at Talk:J. R. R. Tolkien. Currently, Bibliography of J. R. R. Tolkien redirects to the section of his article, but the title is there if you can get consensus to spin the material out. I'm ambivalent about it. If spinning it out would get rid of this bloated template, then fine, but on some articles, this template seems to work. I prefer it to the other ones anyway, such as Template:Lotr, which is even more horrendously bloated. Carcharoth 11:38, 10 May 2007 (UTC) reply
Note that full article now exists as J. R. R. Tolkien bibliography. BPK ( talk) 14:28, 20 July 2016 (UTC) reply

Family

I have corrected the erroneous relationships shown in the newly-added "Family" section, but question whether the section even belongs in the template, since the template is supposedly for Tolkien's bibliography rather than Tolkien as a person. Will leave that to be sorted out by someone else, though. BPK ( talk) 14:25, 20 July 2016 (UTC) reply

The Reeve's Tale

Under 'Academic Works' there's a piece cited called "The Reeve's Tale (1934)" Having read the Canterbury Tales, I was intrigued. However, the hyperlink directs to an article on the Chaucer work, not the Tolkien work. Either a new page or a disambiguation page seems called for. 47.184.222.170 ( talk) 04:15, 17 February 2017 (UTC) reply

The new pages ( Chaucer as a Philologist: The Reeve's Tale) has been created. BPK ( talk) 16:48, 17 February 2017 (UTC) reply
