Notes:

This Template was created on Inauguration Day 2006.

This is based on the current rules of numbering New Jersey's Governors. This does not include the British governors and minor acting governors. People who were elected in unconsecutive terms are listed once. (Numbering is different from U.S. Presidents. It's not like listing Cleveland twice.) Richard Codey and Donald DiFrancesco are listed, now that their status has been elevated to Governor without "Acting" in the title.
