This event is a bit difficult to present, other option suggestions welcome. For many years, this competition was held over a mile. I indicated those years with an M (as opposed to a lower case m which might indicate metric to some people). 1928 is particularly difficult, since 1927 was a Mile, but 1928, won by the same person, was metric--the first time in anticipation of the 1500m being held in the Olympics.
