Addition of Rhythm and blues

Should the article Rhythm and blues be added to this template. There is a portal begun for it Portal:R&B and Soul Music, and would be nice to have it in this topic template. SriMesh | talk 04:29, 1 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Organization

Delta blues is a subgenre, while Chicago blues is a regional scene. Is that consistent?
Isn't the order of the sections a bit odd? You get to punk-blues, whatever that is, before you find Chicago blues. Shouldn't you be talking about fusion after covering all the fundamentals? Go off topic only after covering the topic?

Instruments section

The Acoustic guitar and Drum kit articles do not mention blues so should be removed. It is hard to then make a case for keeping Electric guitar and Harmonica which are not specifically blues instruments, and no more so than double bass, saxophone, diddley bow etc. I suggest they be deleted and Blues shouter moved to the "Other topics" section. Change of colour

In respect of the recent clean up: is there a guideline that says that navboxes cannot be colour coded as they have been for years? I seem to remember a discussion about this and the problem of letter colours, but I cannot find it at the moment.-- SabreBD ( talk) 16:30, 10 May 2012 (UTC) reply

Typical instruments

There have been several attempts since 3/2016 to add Hammond organ and amplifiers to typical instruments as well as electric piano and Leslie speaker. These are not typical instruments or not musical instruments at all. The links do not or barely mention blues and do not meet the purpose of a genre navbox. There are already 13 instruments listed. By contrast, {{ Rhythm and blues}}, {{ Jazz}}, {{ Country music}}, {{ Rock music}}, etc., do not include instruments or other equipment. — Ojorojo ( talk) 18:56, 27 March 2017 (UTC) reply

Blues Cleanup

Could someone please make sure that this template has all genres that fit under Blues, and none that don't? I'd also like each genre to be put under the Blues category and the template in all of the genres. Don't forget to message me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:C7:C201:C640:25C2:6A7E:B7B5:8A0C ( talk) 17:12, 18 February 2021 (UTC) reply

What is Going On?

I made some edits to this template, but someone called Ojorojo undid them, saying that there was "not enough connection." They said these questions have been answered multiple times, but they did not send a link. What do they mean by "not enough connection"? 47.36.25.163 ( talk) 14:13, 18 November 2021 (UTC) reply

You have been using multiple IP addresses from Georgia (Peachtree, Gainesville, etc) to make largely unreferenced changes to genres, implying strong connections where there are weak ones, and asserting lines of development that are not described in the literature. You have been clogging navigation templates with far too many links, and then pasting the templates in far too many article pages. You have used Special:Contributions/47.36.25.163, Special:Contributions/2601:C7:C201:C640:0:0:0:0/64 (blocked three months), and Special:Contributions/73.54.195.214. After you were blocked in late June 2021, you evaded your block to say "Ban Binksternet" as if I was the disruptive person. I'm just trying to corral the genres such that they correspond to the majority of the literature. Binksternet ( talk) 15:08, 18 November 2021 (UTC) reply

Request for Comments on the Blues Templates

I have an account on YouTube, and on YouTube Music, I have been making playlists based on genres and decades. I've been trying to add genres that have been missing from the Blues template, but other users keep messing with my edits. This just makes it harder for me to know which songs belong in which playlist. Could someone do something about this? 47.36.25.163 ( talk) 23:36, 9 December 2021 (UTC) reply

This is not an RfC matter, nor indeed is it a Wikipedia matter. Take it up with YouTube, we are not their helpdesk. -- Redrose64 🌹 ( talk) 00:09, 10 December 2021 (UTC) reply
How do I take this to YouTube? 47.36.25.163 ( talk) 14:55, 10 December 2021 (UTC) reply
At https://www.youtube.com/, expand the menu at the upper-left corner, click on "Help", and proceed. —  JohnFromPinckney ( talk / edits) 01:22, 11 December 2021 (UTC) reply
