Color change

Why was the color changed? Consensus was reached at WT:MLB to make the bottom bar in the champion boxes a tertiary color. KV5 ( TalkPhils) 16:31, 29 May 2009 (UTC) reply

Sorry, I was unaware of that consensus. I'll change it back. -- Muboshgu ( talk) 16:40, 29 May 2009 (UTC) reply
No problem, I just didn't know if a discussion had gone on without me... Cheers. KV5 ( TalkPhils) 16:41, 29 May 2009 (UTC) reply
IMHO, this looks wrong. I'm looking for where the consensus was reached so I can understand the reasoning. -- Muboshgu ( talk) 16:50, 29 May 2009 (UTC) reply
Here is the original discussion. We never reached a final conclusion, but there was rationale given for not using the same color as the header, and I went along with it, assuming that silence implied consensus. KV5 ( TalkPhils) 17:17, 29 May 2009 (UTC) reply
Well, how about this:
I can see why it shouldn't be the same exact scheme, but I think it should be a secondary team color scheme, at least. Check out what I tried for Template:1996 New York Yankees as an idea. -- Muboshgu ( talk) 19:41, 2 June 2009 (UTC) reply
I think what's above is OK; however, I'd still like to see some tertiary color that's not just links (that doesn't always work, not everyone is blue!). I had originally tried it with navy, but it was very awkward. I suppose I could live with the red text; I was disappointed that the red had become so bright to begin with. We were using a more subdued color, then someone swept through with a wave of changing everything to the bright red. If we could go back to the A50024 color for all of the Phillies templates and use that here, I'd be much happier with the red text. I really like the 1996 Yankees template; would that be red text and blue background for this box then? We can lighten and subdue the blue as well. KV5 ( TalkPhils) 19:47, 2 June 2009 (UTC) reply
Going by the secondary colors in Template:Philadelphia Phillies gets this...
I don't love it. But hey, I can leave that to you in the Phillies workgroup to pick what's best. I think that might've been me who changed the reds, I think to match what the main infobox on Philadelphia Phillies says is the team's shade of red, and the red that comes up when you enter the Phillies in Template:Infobox MLB player. Maybe a darker red is better. Again, that can be up to you guys. I'm not a Phillies fan, I just enjoy playing with baseball templates too much. -- Muboshgu ( talk) 20:09, 2 June 2009 (UTC) reply
No problem. I don't love it either. I think lighter is definitely better. I think we had made the decision to use the darker red for readability concerns. We're more concerned with getting the colors right in the infobox, but the reds and blues we were using in the navbox were to aid visually. I'll probably find some time this week t o go through and shift them back. See if this blue (reminiscent of the 80s road unis) strikes you any better...
What do you think? KV5 ( TalkPhils) 20:15, 2 June 2009 (UTC) reply
I like it. That's the best one yet. It'll be tough to come up with a good below color scheme for every one of these templates, but it won't take too long if it goes like this. -- Muboshgu ( talk) 20:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC) reply
Excellent. I can definitely help. I know that there are a lot of these templates. Let me know if there is a group that you would like me to look at. I will copy this format into the 1980 World Series box too, since it will be identical. KV5 ( TalkPhils) 11:53, 3 June 2009 (UTC) reply
It's just a matter of going through them all. I'll do all the Yankees, since that's my team. I've already done Template:1969 New York Mets, Template:1986 New York Mets and Template:1984 Detroit Tigers, so I'll take the rest of the Tigers templates too. We'll eventually get them all done. I guess you can take all the Red Sox templates, I'd rather not think of them having any championships at all if I can avoid it.-- Muboshgu ( talk) 14:50, 3 June 2009 (UTC) reply
Hahaha, OK, that's fine, I just have to restrain myself from vandalizing in there... must not... hurt... evil team... KV5 ( TalkPhils) 15:00, 3 June 2009 (UTC) reply
Haha good luck and godspeed. Get back from that vortex safe. -- Muboshgu ( talk) 15:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC) reply

(outdent) OK, that team is done. KV5 ( TalkPhils) 17:14, 3 June 2009 (UTC) reply

What do you think about teams where the colors have changed? The current Diamondbacks color scheme is not the same as it was in 2001. -- Muboshgu ( talk) 19:17, 3 June 2009 (UTC) reply
Their championship box should still use the old color schemes. The Red Sox have two different header colors (though their tertiary stayed the same). Is the header of the box purple or teal? KV5 ( TalkPhils) 20:20, 3 June 2009 (UTC) reply
It should probably be purple, but I haven't checked it so I'm not sure.-- Muboshgu ( talk) 16:52, 8 June 2009 (UTC) reply
Just checked; it is. Light teal/green for the bottom then. KV5 ( TalkPhils) 17:00, 8 June 2009 (UTC) reply
