Proteus (video game)

  • ... that video game Proteus sparked a debate over its status as a game due to lack of goals, with some calling it a non-game?

Created by Samwalton9 ( talk). Self nominated at 17:11, 8 August 2013 (UTC).

  • Alt 1: ... that in video game Proteus players explore an island where the soundtrack changes based on their location?
I'm not sure which I prefer, and think it could maybe be worded better. Samwalton9 ( talk) 17:15, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
  • A 5x expansion within the past 5 days from when this was nominated would be at least 12,465 characters. It is currently 6,295 characters. The expansion began on August 1. SL93 ( talk) 19:06, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
    • Never mind. This was moved from user space on August 7. The article and the hook meet DYK criteria. This is ready. SL93 ( talk) 19:08, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
  • I've pulled this hook from the prep area, because the statement that some people call this a "non-game" isn't present in the article, nor can I find it explicitly stated in any of the article's sources. This information needs to be either added to the article and sourced, or removed from the hook. DoctorKubla ( talk) 16:04, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
    • That's fair, I found the 'non-game' article and included it forgetting to check whether that was explicitly said. Here's a cited alternative:
Alt 2: ... that video game Proteus sparked a debate over its status as a game due to lack of goals, with some calling it an anti-game? Samwalton9 ( talk) 16:49, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
Okay, that's a good solution (I've added a mention of the "anti-game" description to the article). It's a bit clunky, though. How about:
  • ALT3: ... that Proteus has been described as an anti-game, due to its lack of clear objectives?
Can't approve my own hook, though, so new reviewer needed. DoctorKubla ( talk) 18:25, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
All issues appear to be resolved, so this is ready to go. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 21:21, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
