New enough, long enough, each paragraph is sourced (AGF on offline sources), QPQ not required and hook is interesting and cited. I would however suggest a slight amendment to the hook as follows (but it's no biggy):
ALT1 ... that on 4 September 1782, the
Royal Navy ship HMS Rainbow was responsible for capturing the 360 men aboard a
French Navy frigate with the first proper use of a
carronade(pictured)?
Alt hook is fine by me, will it need another review? Thanks,

I wouldn't say so since the hook's essence remains the same.
