The map on this page contains a factual inaccuracy. The act establishing Wisconsin Territory did not include the UP. The boundaries (between WI and the UP) were much the same as the present boundaries. older ≠ wiser 18:18, 4 August 2006 (UTC) reply

I had understood that the original name of the territory was Ouisconsin then the spelling was changed to Wisconsin. I realize that This source says "The act establishing Wisconsin Territory", but that book has footnotes as late as 1842, so that would be long after the change was made. It would be nice if that source noted the name change, but spelling changes were often made without note. Anyone know about this?  Randall Bart   Talk  22:43, 24 October 2015 (UTC) reply
