I'm presuming this is the same "scientist and professor" mentioned in
"Pereleshin, Mount". BC Geographical Names., which I've used as a link in
Mount Pereleshin. I've seen more on Blake's journey with Pereleshin elsewhere but can't remmember the citation; it seems he was on his way back from Japan when this journey up the river in the company of Lieut. Pereleshin was made; see the report to Seward cited on the Mt Pereleshin page.
