This article no where gives us any actual demogrpahic information to prove that the area involved ever had an African-American majority population. It even less demonstates that this is the case today. I am hoping someone will provide information on this matter, but I will recategorize it for now. Johnpacklambert I've done a lot of work on the article. There are numerous sources that confirm majority black population cited now and the Goertler article has a map on page 53.
