Suggest adding a section on home water filtration units as these are becoming an increasingly important consumer industry.
I agree with the comment above. I will attempt to write some content on the page to delineate which filtration technologies are used in commercial processing of water (waste water treatment, drinking water treatment etc.) and which are used in point-of-use/domestic applications. I think it would also be useful to include some of the technologies being developed for use in developing world applications (e.g. fired earth filters, coal ash filters etc.) Jimjamjak ( talk) 14:26, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
The use of mobile water filtration technology should be dealt with in this article i.e. water filters used by hikers etc. Jimjamjak ( talk) 14:28, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Since the page is dealing with issues not specific to the United States, units of measurement should be given as metric units (see WP:UNITS for details). Jimjamjak ( talk) 12:56, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Are these just filters made of porcelain? How do they work? Why is the construction material significant? Drutt ( talk) 11:30, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Baffle box might be mentioned here

Our Brita article looks like it might discuss a company which fails to meet certain Wikipedia guidelines. Please see WP:42 and WP:CORP. I think the "Brita" article should be shortened and then merged into the "Water filter" article.
Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?

´Merge´ means what, please ? (Leading to ?) No, please.
Brita is a
charcoal filter. There are some more producers of
charcoal filters. A list of producers is not to call propaganda, my opinion. It is an overview of offerers. (Information, ´some´ knowledge.)
Then there are the different other filter technics and materials, for example
osmosis, and technics combined, f. e. charcoal and osmosis.
Minerals and
ph-level enrichment combined with some filters may be a theme here with, too.
Because minerals there are naturals and chemicals, as I assume until now only.
The same about the ph-level enrichment in
water purification systems for
drinking water. Natural (by the way, or extra technic doing this) ph-level and chemical enriched, in water purification for drinking water.

The new History section seems to be filled with copy violations. For starters, some of is taken word for word from here [1] and here [2]
