I do not believe WVEC brands themselves as "13WVEC". Their ID reads "You're watching WVEC TV-13". - Ntropolis

WVEC just unveiled a new logo, however it is not yet available for release through official channels. The image should be updated as soon as the new logo is publicly available

I noticed recently WAVY-TV and WTVZ-TV have just had a logo section added. I wonder when we will be able to access this for WVEC and the other Hampton Roads stations.

Maybe they could switch to a version of the logo with the "Spirit of Hampton Roads" tag.

News and Weather Anchors

This section needs to look more organized than it is.

Also, I'd suggest the parts involving Terry Zahn, Jim Kincaid, and Barbara Ciara be moved to a place with their own articles.

WAVY 10 13:46, 27 October 2006 (UTC) reply

No, I don't think they're notable enough. Jim and Terry maybe, but not for Barbara. Ntropolis 16:13, 29 October 2006 (UTC) reply

Dr. Duane

I have a tape with the 1988 WVEC open following a Monday Night game, and Dr. Duane was still mentioned as being at the station. When did he leave?

New/Old Meteorologist

Who is the woman meteorologist who fills in once in a while on the weekend mornings? I know she is a past personality.

I thought Bonita Harris was still there.

You're thinking of traffic reporter Benita Adams. Ntropolis 16:12, 29 October 2006 (UTC) reply

What about Dale Gauding?

Say What?

Who is this person and what led to her getting axed?

"Allison Williams, reporter until fired for inappropriate behavior in a news van."

Can we get some information as to when she worked there, as well as more specifics in why she was dropped?

WAVY 10 16:12, 14 January 2007 (UTC) reply

There seems to be a sexvideo on the net that claims to be of Ms. Williams having sex in a news van. Doesn't seem unlikely that she would be fired after that video got out but I havent seen anything so far to back up the story. -- Heelgrasper 06:58, 20 January 2007 (UTC) reply
I have seen the 30 minute tape and yes, it shows Williams masturbating and having sex with an unnamed guy in a news van. Looking straight into the camera regularly, she clearly was aware she was being taped. I'm looking for a reliable source to ref the story. Much of Allison's employment at WVEC has been purged from online records with the excpetion of a CNN report that references her [2]. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.32.38.32 ( talk) 19:43, 1 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Weather Presenters

Last week on vacation, I happened to be watching WVEC and spotted former WAVY meteorologist Jim Lawrence substituting on the evening forecasts. Does anyone know when he joined? WAVY 10 Fan ( talk) 15:23, 27 December 2009 (UTC) reply

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material

Hello Notichicas, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles as you did in KITV. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:

  1. WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
  2. As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
  3. WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
  4. Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.

If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. cheers Deconstructhis ( talk) 18:44, 18 April 2011 (UTC) reply
