On behalf of UHG, I'd like to submit a request to delete the Products and services section in this article.

Issue

• The content in the Products and services section is outdated and poorly sourced. In addition, it is not a complete description of UnitedHealth Group’s products and services, since it focuses only on UnitedHealthcare products, with no mention of Optum products and services.

Issue

• The products and services offered by UnitedHealth Group’s two businesses, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, are correctly and more clearly overviewed in the Organizational structure section in this article. As a result, a separate Products and services section seems unnecessary.

Currently, there is a citation request for a phrase in the introductory text that reads and the largest insurance company by net premiums. On behalf of UHG, I'd like to submit a request to remove that phrase as an unsourced and unnecessary detail.

On behalf of UHG, I’d like to start addressing issues with the Criticism and controversies section, which has multiple warning banners. Following is a request regarding the Lobbying subsection.

Issue Placement

• The text in this subsection is not about a controversy or negative criticism of the company, so I would like to propose that this information be moved out of the Criticism and controversies section. Perhaps it could be relocated as a separate section below the Finance section.

Issue Inaccurate data

• When checked against the cited sources, I found that some of the dollar amounts in the text are inaccurate. The number of lobbying firms hired by UnitedHealth Group also does not match the cited source.

Issue Unsourced text

• I would also like to propose that the phrase and the company went on to pull in $78,692 million in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021 alone. be removed, as it is unsourced.

Issue Unrelated text

• I would also like to propose that the text QSSI, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group is one of the 55 contractors hired by the United States Department of Health and Human Services to work on the HealthCare.gov web site. be deleted, as it is unrelated to UnitedHealth Group’s lobbying activity.

• Here is the corrected text I am proposing for the relocated Lobbying section.

In 2009, according to OpenSecrets, people affiliated with UnitedHealth Group gave $4.77 million to political candidates and groups. ^[1] The Affordable Care Act was being discussed in Congress at the time and was subsequently passed in the first quarter of 2010. In 2010 UnitedHealth Group hired nine different lobbying firms to work on its behalf. ^[2] In addition, its corporate political action committee, called United for Health, spent an additional $1 million on lobbying activities. ^[3] UnitedHealth Group subsequently spent $3.09 million to $4.94 million from 2011 to 2021. ^[1]

• 2009 contributions to political candidates and groups
  • Here, I see $4.77 million, which agrees with my original request
• Lobbying firms hired by UnitedHealth Group in 2010
  • Here, I count 9, which agrees with my original request
• Spending from 2011 to 2021
  • Here, I'm seeing $4.11 million to $4.75 million, which does not match my original request.

Based on the above information, here is the revised text for the Lobbying subsection.

The History section highlights our October 2012 acquisition in Brazil. We have recently sold our operations in Brazil. I would like to propose the following update be added to the 2020s-present subsection in the History section.

• In February 2024, UnitedHealth Group completed the sale of its operations in Brazil. ^[1]

This graphic includes not only a photo of the former LHI buildings, but when a user clicks to expand the photo, they can scroll to additional pages that display the UnitedHealthcare and UnitedHealth Group logos.

I'm not sure what you mean by this? Please could you send me a link and I'll be happy to look into this.

Inappropriate and misleading logo

UnitedHealthcare is not associated with LHI, so the UnitedHealthcare logo that is part of the graphic is misleading and inappropriate.

I'm not sure which graphic you are referring to or where it is. If you're referring to the former LHI buildings, I cannot see a logo in it? Please could you clarify where this is.

I do not believe this image is irrelevant as they compliment the text in the article "In September 2014, the office buildings where LHI is based were sold to UnitedHealth Group for $45 million". Even though it is now called Optum Serve, it was LHI, I'd be happy to change the caption to "Former LHI (now Optum Serve) buildings" or something similar?

To answer your questions:

Issue Logos

When I click on the image in the live UnitedHealth Group article, the image expands and I see an arrow on the right side of the image and also on the left side of the image. When I click on the arrow on the right side of the image, it displays the UnitedHealthcare logo. If I click on the arrow on the left side of the image, it displays the UnitedHealth Group logo.

After further examination, I realize the arrows are directing users to other images displayed within the article. For example, users can toggle to the image of the company's logo in the infobox, as well as the UnitedHealthcare logo in the Organizational structure section. I apologize for misunderstanding the graphic!

Issue Caption
