Alien / Aliens error

"According to Professor Jefffrey A. Brown, there was a growth of female-led action films in the wake of Alien's success."

This sentence has a few errors. The article is referring to Aliens (with an "s"), not Alien. (see https://www.jstor.org/stable/1225765) Also, Jeffrey should have 2 "f"s rather than 3. 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 ( talk) 15:44, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Also, "the T-1000, the films villain," seems to be missing an apostrophe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 ( talk) 15:47, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

no, it isn't. Where would an apostrophe go? Do you know what an apostrophe is? It has a hyphen, but that is present and correct? PeachyBum07 ( talk) 16:04, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Yep, I do know what an apostrophe is, thanks. Let me write this out in even greater detail for you, since you're struggling: the phrase "the T-1000, the films villain" should be written "the film's villain". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 ( talk) 16:55, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

sorry, that's an error on my part I just read it back. PeachyBum07 ( talk) 16:57, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

It happens. Looks like that got fixed, but just FYI, those other 2 errors seem to still be there -- the wrong movie title and the misspelling of Jeffrey. Is this the wrong place to note these things? I can't seem to edit this article myself, maybe because I don't have an account. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 ( talk) 17:01, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Both these issues are now resolved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 ( talk) 18:27, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Thanks for identifying these issues, you can't edit this at the moment because it's protected due to the higher traffic brought in by it being on the front page. Darkwarriorblake ( talk) 18:30, 10 October 2023 (UTC) reply

UK film distributor

Would it be worth discussing that the UK release was by Guild Film Distribution, not Tristar Pictures? Back in the late 1980s/early 1990s, Carolco Pictures had a deal with Guild Film Distribution to distribute their films in the UK. This includes other films like Total Recall, The Doors, Basic Instinct and Chaplin (1992 film)

You will find it all on the BBFC website as a source. Just look under their original cinema release dates.

It's not something that would be discussed here, it's not a British film. Darkwarriorblake ( talk) 16:39, 17 April 2024 (UTC) reply
