The presence of the skeptic project banner

The presence of the wikiproject skepticism banner indicates that the subject of the article is within the scope of the project. A college which teaches naturopathy is clearly within that scope. I am replacing the template which indicates that the article on the college is within the scope of the project. This does not challenge the existence of the school, but the material the school teaches and any claims made in reference to the subject matter and the activities of the school are within the considerations of the project. Please read the information on the project's page. The presence of the template in no way challenges the existence of the school so the edit to remove it was not appropriate. - - MrBill3 ( talk) 07:37, 12 September 2013 (UTC) reply

Notice from Sonoran University

After having my name changed in reflection of the rule about institutional accounts, I will be making the changes to best reflect the source of the information being the institution's main website, sonoran.edu, and other sources. If there is any need for further clarification, or if there are any edits that are needed, I ask you please reach out to me before so we can ensure and sustain accuracy of the page. Thank you. I strongly recommend you limit your edits to suggestions and requests here in Talk. Acknowledging your conflict of interest doesn't relieve you of it.
And this isn't your university's website - you don't have any special license to ask other editors to seek your approval before they edit this encyclopedia article.
Finally, who is "we?" ElKevbo ( talk) 21:08, 22 May 2023 (UTC) reply
Hi, yes I am going to keep things here in Talk as per your recommendation. I am following up as I responded to your other message, as per your request. I'm mostly commenting here to say that "we" is just an example that at some far flung point in the future, I may not be the person at Sonoran University making/requesting changes. And finally, I apologize if it came off as "you need our permission" instead of wanting to be looped in by major changes. My overall goal is to have accurate information, well cited, in the style that reflects other higher learning institutions. Thank you. Requested changes for the Page

Hi, as I believe I've been properly tagged, and continuing to follow the recommended best practice of suggesting/requesting changes to being made for our page, I am creating this new topic. In order for our page to look similar to our contemporaries, I am going to suggest the following:

A History section:

Originally incorporated as Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences (SCNM) in 1992, Sonoran inducted its inaugural class of naturopathic doctors in 1993. When founder, Dr. Michael Cronin, first convened his co-founders Kyle Hawk Cronin, Hugh Hawk, Conrad Kail, Dana Keaton, and Deborah Mainville-Knight, the number of licensed naturopathic physicians in Arizona numbered less than 40. Sonoran outgrew its first campus and moved to the current Tempe campus in 1996. The campus tripled in size, starting with the purchase of the Medical Center building in 2010. In 2015, the LEED-Platinum Lim Commons, established a campus hub that includes a café, Medicinary, library, teaching kitchen, classrooms, and the Neil Riordan Center for Regenerative Medicine, offering a patient-centered non-opioid approach to chronic pain. Sonoran University’s Community Health program began in 1995 and together with partners, student clinicians and physicians have provided free care to tens of thousands of women, men, and children. Patients include children in impoverished school districts, domestic violence survivors, women and children recovering from homelessness and trauma, individuals coping with HIV/AIDS and patients recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. In 2001, a grant from the National Institutes of Health, in collaboration with Gaia Herbs, began a botanical research program. In 2019, Sonoran University’s Academic Programs added the College of Nutrition and subsequently launched two online Master of Science programs: MS Clinical Nutrition and MS Nutrition Business Leadership. In 2021, with a donation from Gaia founder Ric Scalzo, a state-of-the-art Biosafety Level 2 Laboratory opened on Sonoran University’s campus. In 2022, SCNM rebranded their college as Sonoran University of Health Sciences. University President, Paul Mittman, in an open letter provided reason for the change was due to the University's growing breadth of disciplines had outgrown it's original scope. "The College of Naturopathic Medicine as a college within Sonoran University of Health Sciences will be part of a more diverse ecosystem. The University’s other disciplines – all grounded in the healing power of nature – broaden our alliances with other professions. These professional relationships will be invaluable for critical future issues including licensure, regulatory, access to care, and accreditation. I believe that Sonoran University of Health Sciences will open more doors and create more opportunities to collaborate, receive funding, and attract students. While the name change won’t be completed until September, conversations with several universities, foundations, and donors support this hypothesis. The Naturopathic profession will only thrive within the health care system, not as an outlier. Placing the College of Naturopathic Medicine within Sonoran Health Sciences University rhetorically supports this role of Naturopathic Medicine as a vital component of the healthcare system." - Paul Mittman

Also, I would like to provide Wikipedia the official Sonoran University seal logo to use for the Wikipedia page. If I could get that done as well, it would be appreciated. Also, would it help if I provided images of our campus to improve the page?

Thank you.

Changes made to the page

I am disclosing myself as a paid contributor, per paid disclosure policy, and have waited almost 3 weeks for my requested edits on the Talk page. After this period of time, I changed the article to include a history of the University, following notations that gave cause for prior removal. A copy of this will be posted in the article section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CameronAtSonoranUniversity ( talkcontribs) 22:48, 21 June 2023 (UTC) reply
