There was no 'ancient native name' for Solomon Islands, either for the archipelago or the current nation state. There was no concept of the Solomon Islands as a cultural entity, the islands were sometimes at war with each other, or unknown to each other. The "Name" section of the article says the definite article, "the", has not been part of the country's official name since independence.
