The neighborhood shows as having been cut out from the Elm Thicket neighborhood. Is there any documentation from the City of Dallas that substantiates that the city has ever or continues to treat Shannon Estates as a neighborhood separate from Elm Thicket?

The Shannon Estates page claims that a neighborhood association for Shannon Estates was created by residents, but the website for it appears to have been defunct since 2012, at least. Since then, Elm Thicket, including the Shannon Estates section, was selected in Spring 2016, as a target area for improvement through Dallas' Neighborhood Plus program (see Elm Thicket for more information on that program).
