This article needs some revisions--the salary heading is out of place, and the second paragraph in the election section needs to be revised. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmaysdickey ( talkcontribs) 06:07, 20 January 2021 (UTC) reply

Katy Tang title

Some edits of the page edited Katy Tang's title as "interim president." No such position exists under the charter. She was elected president, albeit to a term with only a short time remaining. The draft minutes of the Board of Supervisors meeting of November 18, 2014 reflect this, and should be considered definitive, along with the City Charter, as should San Francisco City Charter section 2.116. There are some offices where the law recognizes a different office with "Acting" or "Interim" in the title (like the Governor of California, where someone, usually the Lieutenant Governor, becomes Acting Governor whenever he or she is not present in the state). But the San Francisco City Charter makes no provision for an "acting president of the Board of Supervisors"nor an "interim president of the Board of Supervisors." It simply authorized the Board to elect one of their members as president if a vacancy arises in the office, and requires elections for the board presidency to occur on January 8 of all odd-numbered years. So Tang is the board president, with no "interim" modification on the title. Presumably, on January 8, 2015 the Board will hold another election, and Tang or some other member will be elected president at that time. Circumspect ( talk) 08:56, 1 December 2014 (UTC) reply
