  • James Irwin - Apollo astronaut (I can find no sources linking him to Roseburg)
  • Rosemary Carde` - comic book model, comic book artist, painter, and writer (significance?, no sources) (should it be spelled Cardé?)
  • Phillip M. Singer - anthropologist and political scientist (no sources)

Hoyt Axton actually lived near Idleyld Park, Oregon [1], and perhaps should be moved there when an article is written.

Helen Lesh

OK, so someone removed Helen Lesh. I know for a fact she lived there for quite some time. I met her once, and my father, who still lives there, has had occasion to work with her on various community projects. She may have recently moved away or passed away, for that matter. Hi, you never have to wonder who changed an article when you look at the page history. The one for this page is here. If you see my edit summary, you will see I said that Phil's mom probably isn't notable on her own. For these notable residents sections the basic rule is that the person a) has to meet Wikipedia's notability criteria b) has to already have an article on Wikipedia. If she is indeed notable on her own merits, an article on her would need to be written using reliable sources. Though I don't doubt that Helen Lesh lived in Roseburg, we can't take your word for it because this is original research on your part. Again, reliable sources are needed. Places where famous people's parents live, however, is most likely going to fall into the realm of trivia, though there are probably some exceptions. I hope this helps. Great ... thanks for the reply. Yes, you're probably right. Mrs. Lesh is not a celebrity. I just felt like giving a boost to the 'Burg! I grew up there and have sincere fondness for it. FYI, one does not need to have a Wikipedia article written about them to be considered notable, according to Wikipedia:Notability#General_notability_guideline. Rather, credible references can be used to establish notability. Happy New Year! Froid ( talk) 15:56, 1 January 2016 (UTC) reply
However, as mentioned above, because notable people sections attract driveby redlinks and redlink vandalism, the longterm guideline by WikiProject Oregon is that additions to notables sections should already have articles, thus the burden of meeting notability is on the person adding the name. Feel free to get more clarification at WT:ORE. I did do my due diligence in the above case, and concluded she isn't notable by what we now call WP:GNG.
