Twice now, an unregistered user with the IP 138.89.154.191 has written that the Nets would stay in East Rutherford if they don't move to Brooklyn. I've googled to find any kind of evidence to support the fact, and I just haven't. If a quote does exist, please list it. If there is a new arena with luxury boxes and amenities in Newark, and the bare bones arena at the Meadowlands, I don't see how the Nets wouldn't move to Newark if Brooklyn is not an option.
I am fairly confident that if the Brooklyn plan is shot down (although I think it will happen), Ratner will immediately move to sell the team. He has no need for the Nets if it doesn't involve the high profile arena project he has developed.
Charles Wang, owner of the Islanders would make a move to buy the team if that happened, as well as perhaps groups that would move it to Newark or even MSG.

Newark Arena → Prudential Center – The Devils' owner has announced that a deal with Prudential has been reached. [1] This needs to be done by an admin, since an article called Prudential Center already exsists, previously redirected to Prudential Tower. Milchama 22:25, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Add any additional comments I know we shouldn't move the article until the Arena name is confirmed (look at the CitiField / Citi Field mess). Reports list the arena as Prudential Center, but Prudential Center is a redirect to Prudential Tower, which is part of the Prudential Center complex in Boston.
The question is do we take the Prudential Center name for this arena, and rename the Boston article Prudential Center (Boston)? Or do we just call this article Prudential Center (Newark), Prudential Center (New Jersey) or something like that.
Since the Prudential Center article is merely a redirect, I suggest the first option. Milchama 18:47, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Being as the Devils and Prudential are still in "discussions about a naming rights deal", we should probably hold off on renaming until "Prudential Center" becomes final. John cena123 03:31, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
How about calling it "Prudential Center (Arena)", and put it under the header of the main "Prudential Center" so when people search it, they can easily find what theyre looking for. Skrip00 02:08, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=ap-devilsarena&prov=ap&type=lgns this AP article says it is official. we can name the article Prudential Center (Newark) and the Boston one can be Prudential Center (Boston). Drhaase 2:04, 8 January 2007
Better to name this article "Prudential Center" and put a {{alternateuses}} at the top. -- Krm500 10:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Seton Hall University's basketball team is also moving into the Newark Arena with the devils. I am pretty sure that next basketball season the team will be playing in the arena.
The Bon Jovi concert dates are start in late October, well into the NHL season. Are the Devils playing the entire month on the road, or is the arena opening prior to that for Devils games? 213.219.31.34 19:04, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
The reason for this edit is to expand upon what will make the soon-to-be-opened Prudential Center such a "first-class facility" (as it has been described). New sports venues tend to stand out from older ones because of their architecture, amenities, and features. Yet, prior to my edit, the only information provided about the Prudential Center was its construction history and information on its naming rights. I think that the article was a little lacking, considering the arena opens in 7 weeks and will have what has been described as some of the nicest amenities of any arena in North America. Hopefully, the "Features" section I just added will address that issue. Y2kcrazyjoker4 15:20, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Is the outside completed? Can someone take a picture so we can replace the artist rendering. Thanks ccwaters 20:12, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Just went to a special season-ticket holder event, and snapped some photos... I added some of the better ones. The lighting was garbage, though, so you can't see a whole lot. Still would like to get a good shot of the outside. Anthony Hit me up... 20:04, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Is it safe to remove the about a planned or proposed arena designation at the top of the page? I've started going through the article to change tenses and consolidate citations with the main website. New to the user community, please provide feedback! adelsr 17:25, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I thought Prudential had been bought out by then Washington Mutual (now WaMu). Shouldn't it be WaMu Center? I didn't know the name Prudential existed. Or is it like America West, which is really US Airways? Basketball110 ( talk) 03:37, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Correction- I saw my mistake. WaMu got Providian, not Prudential. Basketball110 16:54, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
It seems pretty awkward to mention NJIT in the lead for its home stadium. NJIT has a contract to play only six games on four dates at the Prudential Center. The Center is NOT home for NJIT like it is for the Devils, Ironmen and the Pirates. There is absolutely no venue information for NJIT on the Prudential Center website. But, if you mention NJIT then you would really have to mention all the different venues that have a contract with the Center and that includes high school events too: and that's a lot! So, it's probably best to keep it limited. On the other hand, for the time being it can stay in the lead (although edited a bit), if no one else has a problem with it.? aNubiSIII ( T / C) 16:58, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

AmeriHealth bought naming rights to the arena.
And Jon Krawczyk, a Devils fan and sculptor is creating a 30 foot tall polished stainless steel hockey player sculpture for the arena. http://www.battleofny.com/2008/07/19/devils-to-add-sculptur/

Before this section gets out of hand, can we establish some groundrules on what goes in this section? Perhaps limiting it to truly historic events (arena firsts, championships), and then a sentence similar to "In addition to...., Prudential Center also hosts concerts, WWE wrestling, mixed martial arts ....". I've seen these sections get really out of control in other articles (see BankAtlantic Center for instance) listing every event to ever take place. I think citing every performance is a bit overkill. Just being a bit proactive here... - Sme3 ( talk) 14:26, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
I moved the line "The arena was host to UFC 78 on November 17, 2007." from Other events to Sports, as Mixed Martial Arts is a sport. Please dont move this back to other events. Wims ( talk) 07:10, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
The center will (or has recentl) opened an outdoor restuarant near the plaza outside if this could be added into the article somehow, the main website lists this as well.--Cooly123 00:26, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
I agree with 38.140.131.162 that the field size figure looks very large. The source gives a figure of 850,000 square feet, but it doesn't specify what that's a measure of - is it possible that figure includes all the internal floorspace in addition to the field? Is there another source that could be used to check this? GirthSummit (blether) 18:33, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Prudential Center (disambiguation) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. — RMCD bot 01:05, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
Why is an image that is 15 years old showing a skewed version of of the Prudential Center with a parking lot better (as claimed) than a 4 year old front on image of that much better represents the current situation?
