Royal Caribbean merger?

I had heard that Royal Caribbean had merged with Princess and were dual listed. There is no mention of this in the article. Is this true? Did Carnival buy Princess from Royal Caribbean? -- Kimonandreou 15:15, 4 December 2006 (UTC) reply

Answer: Before Carnival bought the entire P&O Princess Cruises devision (including P&O Cruises, AIDA, Swan Hellenic, etc.) it was the intention for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line to buy the company. But when RCCL place a bid, Carnival placed an even higher bid, which was accepted by the P&O head office. User: Sealynx 13:10, 13 April 2007

American Cruise Line?

Carnival is the holding company for Princess. Carnival Corp is headquartered in the US and Carnival PLC is headquartered in the UK, but Carnival Corp is incorporated under the laws of Panama, while Carnival PLC is incorporated under the laws of the UK. (See for 10K at Carnival Corporation & plc 2006 Annual Report on Form 10-K How would this make Princess an American cruising company? Further, Princess was part of P&O Princess and therefore a UK entity originally, see Carnival plc 2005 UK GAAP Financial Statements. Further it might be marketing toward Americans, but certainly it's not an exclusive group, since they also market toward Canadians, Europeans, New Zealanders and Australians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.138.194.101 ( talk) 09:26, 11 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Princess logo.gif

Image:Princess logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Flags

Balddricks claimed that Princess Cruises ships fly the flag of the British Merchant Navy. That is incorrect. See a YouTube video, uploaded by Princess Cruises themselves, which shows them flying the flag of Bermuda. Huon ( talk) 18:44, 6 February 2014 (UTC) reply

Fleet

There are three separate sections for current fleet, future fleet, and former fleet, respectively. Shouldn't we consolidate this into one section with subsections for current, former, and future fleets? Sethcampbell7293 ( talk) Sethcampbell7293 00:15, 22 January 2023 (UTC) reply
