Hi Potosi and Low Potosi

Pahrump and Vegas TV stations also broadcast from antennas at Potosi. Contact Randy Cress at Pahrump Media Group on the info. He installed most of it. Apple8800 ( talk) 10:28, 20 February 2011 (UTC) reply

"... is one of the six high points surrounding Las Vegas."

I don't know what this means, or is meant to mean. A query on Peakbagger.org reveals that that Potosi Mountain is 25.01 miles from what Wikipedia gives as the location of Las Vegas, and Peakbagger has 131 points in database at least that close, 119 with 100 feet of prominence, and 90 with 300 feet of prominence. Only 12 with 1000 feet of prominence, but note that doesn't include Charleston Peak, clearly visible from Las Vegas, and a little farther away. I'm sure there's some way you could justify that count, but I'm equally sure it's completely arbitrary; there are many, many high points around Las Vegas, and any list is going to include arbitrary cut-offs.-- Prosfilaes ( talk) 12:11, 13 August 2017 (UTC) reply

Thinking it as high points, not necessarily prominent ones, there are no higher mountains closer than it, but going out to 30 miles from LV there are 7 peaks taller than it, and 35 miles (now including Charleston Peak) there are 17.-- Prosfilaes ( talk) 21:42, 13 August 2017 (UTC) reply
