Because of the loose media use of the word, Americans (not excluding me!) get confused between "Elections" (which is what the media is usually talking about), Government, which is what the elected people can do under the constitution and statutes, and Politics, which is what the elected officials actually do, once elected. Voters don't do politics! We have a representative government. All voters do is vote and cross our fingers! :) Student7 ( talk) 15:17, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
