A recent Orlando Sentinel article refers to Poinciana with no indication that it is supposed to be part of some other city. Map sites indicate that Poinciana is 11 miles away from Kissimmee. The anon is also using IP addresses from Texas, Illinois and Arizona... everywhere but Florida it would seem. -- Curps 06:20, 15 April 2006 (UTC) reply

It's so not part of Kissimmee. -- SPUI ( T - C - RFC - Curpsbot problems) 01:15, 20 April 2006 (UTC) reply

The mailing address for residents of Poinciana is Kissimmee since the mail delivery comes from the Kissimmee post office. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.205.201.22 ( talk) 00:48, 14 October 2007 (UTC) reply

Actually they can be both Kissimmee, Florida 34759 and Poinciana, Florida 34759 since Poinciana does now have its own post office. Rosie, Queen of Corona ( talk) 21:01, 8 April 2009 (UTC) reply

Some of the confusion could be generated by Google. When I searched for an address in Poinciana, Google redirected me to Kissimmee and changed the city name in its map search result. Cmcf ( talk) 23:26, 11 August 2010 (UTC) reply

Removing section which states population is 60,000

If someone is going to say the population has tripled in less thyan 10 years, there needs to be a source, not just a spammy link which doesn't even work anymore. I'll try to find a good link( because I know the area has grown a lot) and will put back if I do... Thanks, VictorianMutant ( talk) 04:17, 28 September 2010 (UTC) reply

I see that an editor has named a source for the population figure, yet has not appropriately cited in the article. Thus, a "citation needed" tag was inserted until such action is conducted. -- Moreau36-- Discuss 00:12, 25 April 2011 (UTC) reply

I live in Poinciana, Florida. We receive a newsletter every month (now bimonthly) called the Poinciana Pioneer which shows the population numbers. I put www.poincianapioneer.com in the links section and someone removed it and now everyone wants a citation source. Maybe one of you can figure out how to get it to work for you. The most recent numbers in the April 15, 2011 issue are in BOX SCORE on page 10 show a total population of 69,691. Also we do now have a U.S. Post Office and no longer have to be labeled as Kissimmee. Maybe someday Google and everyone else will get this right. We have a library, WalMart, Publix, and hopefully soon if all the red-tape gets cut a hospital. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.110.247.169 ( talk) 18:27, 1 May 2011 (UTC) reply

  • Poinciana Medical Center is now completed, open and fully operational. See here for their official website. Should be added to the article IMHO. TheGoofyGolfer ( talk) 05:26, 25 September 2013 (UTC) reply
