Enlarged

I've enlarged the article a bit. There are a couple of bits where I couldn't find citations for the original text, and have marked up accordingly. Apart from that I've done the bibliography etc. and added in-line citations throughout. Will no doubt need looking over and editing etc. Hchc2009 ( talk) 17:29, 13 December 2009 (UTC) reply

Poor syntax

"Academically competent, those close to him ..." The appositive phrase before the comma according to this syntax refers to "those". If it's supposed to refer to Philip, reword this sentence. 4.249.63.51 ( talk) 19:42, 20 June 2010 (UTC) reply

Article Intro

Hm. It seems C. Tomas was also responsible for the unhelpful edits to Philips II, III, & IV. Just as a reminder: WP:Sovereign (inter alia) clearly explain that the articles should be headed by the single title most commonly used in English. The subsidiary titles like Aragon and Portugal should simply be quickly listed elsewhere in the lede. Calling Philip IV of Spain "Philip III & IV" is both confusing and proscribed. —  LlywelynII 09:47, 8 July 2012 (UTC) reply

Spanish Empire?

The name 'Hispanic-American Empire' can be properly used to design the American places ruled by Spanish, in a certain time, just 50 officials in 'La casa de las Americas' in Seville controlled it all, but the rest of places in Europe were Philip IV of Spain and his antecessors since Charles I of Spain and V of Germany were considered 'head of state', are probably better referred to as: 'The Hapsburg's Empire' or 'the Burgundian's Empire'. Or not?-- Jgrosay ( talk) 00:21, 23 November 2013 (UTC) reply
