I have a problem with the caption to this image. It was caption The Seal of the Inspectors General. in the article Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) which I will remove in a minute (I mean the image). Anyone has suggestions? What would be the alternative, respectively? I'm asking because I want to add a logo or seal to the OIG article which is proper/suits it. -- Scriberius ( talk) 20:17, 17 June 2010 (UTC) reply

This is the seal of the CIGIE; would you like to return it to the article? -- Cmagha ( talk) 17:50, 27 June 2010 (UTC) reply

Meaning of abuse in OIG context

It seems to largely be about "abuse of power" but there could be other situations included under the term of "abuse". Potential sources to add to the article:

What's DFE?

The table listing vacant OIG positions includes David Hunt, described in a note as "Currently DFE". What does DFE mean? Is it a title? A state of being?

Deputy financial educator? Dismissed from employment? Died from exhaustion?

As I continued to wonder about this, I read on and found a whole subsection titled List of DFE IGs. Neither the article nor the references provided a clue to the meaning of DFE. AcronymFinder.com was also unhelpful. It's clearly not widely understood. Could someone from inside the Beltway kindly enlighten us? -- ob C. alias ALAROB 20:58, 17 August 2022 (UTC) reply

“DFE” is a “Designated Federal Entity.” It is apparently distinct from a “FE” or a “Federal Entity.”

A better explanation of the DFE vs FE paradigm (and a secondary source, at that) may be found here:

FEs “…are required to report annually to each House of the Congress and the Office of Management and Budget on audit and investigative activities in their organizations.”

DFEs are presumably not held to this standard, with their IGs only being required to report this information to their agency heads at whatever time interval said head mandates. MWFwiki ( talk) 05:11, 25 September 2022 (UTC) reply

Proposal to Clear Issue Flags & Move "Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute enforcement" section

A decent portion of this page is listings of links and names along with explanations and information provided by the government about how these agencies operate. Aside from the historical and critical portions, most of the information here seems plainly straight-forward.

I do believe that the "Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute enforcement" section may be better off getting moved to Stark Law as it seems far more suited for that page than this one.

Any thoughts? Armeym ( talk) 23:26, 9 April 2024 (UTC) reply
