The applicable rule of thumb that is generally followed for plants on this wiki, the English Wikipedia, is outlined at
WP:MONOTYPICFLORA.

Oppose per
WP:MONOTYPICFLORA; we cover a monotypic genus and its only species in an article at the genus title. Other language Wikipedias haven chosen to deal with monotypic taxa in different ways, but that shouldn't dictate how we do it on en.wiki. Wikidata and Wikispecies do routinely have separate items/articles for every taxon, even if it is monotypic at a particular rank; that Wikidata links the en.wiki article at the genus title to Wikidata species item is a problem with Wikidata, not en.wiki.
