I don't suppose anyone knows how exactly Tustin Foothills and North Tustin (for which name there was no automatically generated article) relate? These unincorporated areas have always been a bit of an amorphous blob to me; I grew up inside the city limits. -- Brion 06:05 Oct 26, 2002 (UTC)

Tustin Foothills is a name generated by the United States Census Bureau through local agencies. It just happens that several unincorporated poorly-defined communities are located within the boundaries, thus each community did not qualify to be it's own CDP. -- Moreau36 17:48, 28 July 2006 (UTC) reply

Mailing address

I remember a few years ago that there was a lot of fuss about making "North Tustin" an officially acceptable alternative to "Santa Ana" when referring to a 92705 mailing address. I have been having difficulty finding a source for this info but noticed this quote "In mid 2005, the Tustin Chamber of Commerce reported that the U.S. Postal Service has approved the use of "North Tustin" as an acceptable address for the 92705 zip code." at this page but I do not know whether this is an acceptable source. 69.105.108.160 ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 11:57, 10 January 2011 (UTC). reply

North Tustin Name Change

My understanding is that the 2000 census called this Census Designated Place "Tustin Foothills". This was changed to "North Tustin" for the 2010 census. So, Tustin Foothills and North Tustin are the same place. The census data includes the unincorporated area of zip code 92705. The unincorporated contiguous community includes the unincorporated areas of zip codes 92705 and 92780; the latter has a significantly smaller area. The post office designation of North Tustin for the unincorporated part of zip code 92705 was a project of the Foothill Communities Association (FCA). See www.FCAhome.org.
