May well be, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a source online that lists the full first names of the paper's authors, so I can't say. --

I would have thought it unlikely. These primes were first described in 1981, when Max Newman would have been in his eighties, and he'd retired in 1964.

It's not Max Newman, but the question is 2 years old so KF may have lost interest. A simple
Google search easily finds "Newman, Morris; Shanks, Daniel; Williams, H.C."
