I've noticed this in quite a few articles about Jamaican cities, but the area of them is never listed in the infobox. Jamaican parishes would be equivalent to counties just about everywhere else, and there does seem to be administrative divisions below parishes (cities/municipalities), so when it is said that it is the second largest in area, why isn't the area of this city (or any other for that matter) listed anywhere on the city's page? -- Criticalthinker ( talk) 04:41, 2 January 2010 (UTC) reply

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that the popular culture section exists just to list anything that mentions or shows the subject in any way. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. It is not enough that the song metions Montego Bay - you have to provide a reference from a reliable source that proves the song is important to Montego Bay, and closely associated with it, per WP:TRIVIA and Wikipedia:"In popular culture" content. If you continue to re-add this information without taking the time to do this, you are in danger of being blocked for edit warring. - BilCat ( talk) 08:17, 5 February 2011 (UTC) reply

In one place we say, "Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean", in another, "Jamaica [...] is the 4th largest island nation of the Greater Antilles". These can't both be true. Or, if it is true (because of some subtle distinction between "island" and "island nation" and/or "Caribbean" vs "Greater Antilles", it's certainly confusing. The island of Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean, after Cuba and Hispaniola. The country of Jamaica is the largest island nation of the Greater Antilles after Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The city is enclosed in a watershed, drained by several rivers such as the Montego River.
