Ashton Hawkins

Ashton Hawkins, a former board member and executive vice president of the museum, has died. Any help with his article would be appreciated. Thank you, Thriley ( talk) 16:27, 3 April 2022 (UTC) reply

sitation [6] appears to be broken.

I would like some conformation establishing whether or not this is true. HoneyGlazedHams ( talk) 01:46, 28 May 2023 (UTC) reply

Do you mean this citation?

What is wrong with it? Would you please be more specific? Peaceray ( talk) 05:56, 28 May 2023 (UTC) reply

Images of Muhammad

and David Gerard, I want to point out that the Met does currently (as of June 2023) display images of Muhammad; see example here. In addition, I feel that the Post article makes claims that are not directly supported by the quote from the museum spokesperson, specifically that the museum may never display such images again. The only claim that I believe is verifiable is that the museum removed images for one specific exhibition, as I don't think even the Post would fabricate a quote from a museum official. At this point, I feel that if there is consensus to include the claim, it should be constrained to the verifiable facts. Orange Suede Sofa ( talk) 20:46, 9 June 2023 (UTC) reply

yeah, as was noted in the RFC, NYP is given to fabrication, especially of the tabloid "jazzing up" style. ("Ample examples of outright fabrication of facts and quotes on all sorts of stories to the point that it just seems like the way they operate.") If the NYP says the sky is blue, find an RS to check it wasn't grey that day. No unique claims should be cited to a GUNREL (certainly not quotes, the NYP is notorious for making up quotes). GUNREL tabloid sources are so tempting because they have so much stuff and it's really interesting! Because they don't overly concern themselves with solid factual basis.
(and frankly, I can't think of anything Page Six should be cited for. It's literally the gossip page, come on.) - David Gerard ( talk) 21:12, 9 June 2023 (UTC) reply
Fixed these issues, didn't take long. Please build up, not down. ɱ (talk) 02:23, 10 June 2023 (UTC) reply
