I started the Israel Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (website www.israelcme.org) article to capture information about the church from when it was Israel Bethel Church. This article seems to reflect a church that was started later (1820 vs. 1838), but has some of the same history (like funerals of Frederick Douglass and Rosa Parks. The Israel article also reflects a Victorian Gothic church built in 1886.

In the Israel article, one of its names is Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church.

It seems that these articles should be merged. I am seeing Israel Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal Church as the current name of the church. But I could absolutely be missing something.– CaroleHenson ( talk) 22:50, 3 June 2021 (UTC) reply

I just realized, they are in two different locations google both addresses... which is confusing that they have some of the same history. I cannot find a viable web address for the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church, though.– CaroleHenson ( talk) 23:03, 3 June 2021 (UTC) reply
I have sorted out that they are really two different churches, but seem to have some shared history perhaps from 1838 to 1872. I removed the merge tags, but it would be great to get input about the shared history. Perhaps Israel Bethel Church split off to two different churches: Israel Metropolitan CME Church and Metropolitan AME Church.– CaroleHenson ( talk) 01:23, 4 June 2021 (UTC) reply
