Should a one time murder be listed as the ONLY item under "in the news" ... while tragic, this hardly seems noteworthy as it relates to the city at large, and I'd like someone to consider removing it... McKinney has gotten more media attention for several other things.

yes i agree, it is hardly noteworthy when pertaining to the city, to list the crimes of most cities would be ridiculous due to the amount (including murder, there has been more than one murder in McKinney). Ill remove it myself but if someone reverts it please read this and reconsider. 205.201.101.153 08:56, 30 September 2007 (UTC) reply

why is the picture of the county and the state so big? the picture should be smaller and in the table to the right when the article starts —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.204.43.2 ( talk) 02:46, 20 May 2010 (UTC) reply

Can't someone find a BETTER photo McKinney's a large enough town that the one representative photo shouldn't be the water tower! How about a shot of the town square, or something significant!

I live in McKinney, so maybe I can take a photo... By the way, PLEASE sign your comments, and login!!! -- Jeffwang16 (Talk) (Contributions) (Email me!) 12:09, 27 August 2010 (UTC) reply

yes, a photograph would be nice. They have a very comprehensive and very well designed website that shows that they have an "Old Historic Main Street" where, on June 6, you can have "Coffee with the Cops." Ha. In the cities I have lived in when the cops want to talk to you they stop your car and shine a big flashlight in your face.:-) Da5id403 ( talk) 22:42, 3 June 2013 (UTC) reply

Local Government

the population of the city more than doubled between 2000 and 2010. The names of local government officials and other information as of 2009 reflecting 2008 information is already five years old and undoubtedly mostly erroneous. this information changes yearly and maybe more often. I suggest we delete the section altogether. any objections? Da5id403 ( talk) 22:11, 3 June 2013 (UTC) reply

Everyone in McKinney is dead

There has been considerable back and forth on whether or not to include "Everyone in McKinney is dead" as a cultural reference of this city. I wanted to open up a discussion space to talk about this a little more.

Should there be a small paragraph dedicated to this incident? HaapsaluYT ( talk) 19:55, 15 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Absolutely. Put it in the intro AFAIAC; a town where everybody is dead is certainly worth a mention. Maarten1963 ( talk) 16:19, 20 April 2024 (UTC) reply
