it is strange that you have omited the name of muttathu varkey in the list of famous malayalam writers. it was he who taught the average malayali to read. pity that you forgot his famous books like "padatha painkili" and "enapravukal".(unsigned)

This article has been created by vested interest elements and need to be removed. It is strange to note that among all the Indian languages, only in case of Malayalam, the names of poets have been classified into various categories to ensure that some self-styled non-poets stylize themselves as (post-modernist) poets. This is disastrous for Malayalam poetry...
There are some non-notable names in the list of post modern poets like Vallikkod Vikraman, S. Jithesh and unnikrishnan poozhikkad. Kunjappa Pattanoor and Suresh Nooranadu are generally not considered as post-modern poets, even if they have written some collections of poems.
Some notable names like T. P. Rajeevan, P. A. Nasimudin, V. M. Girija, Veerankutty, Sebastian, A. C. Sreehari, Mohanakrishnan Kaladi and M. B. Manoj are not included in the list. Raziakk 18:13, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Really a worthy effort. U have included apt names.Congrats Raziakk...! I like Veeran's poem.Manthrikan is his finest work. But Suresh Nooranadu and S. jithesh surely comes under the category of post modern poets. Jithesh poem 'Narayude Swakaryangal' (Mathrubhumi Weekly) is a finest example of post modern poety. Please read his latest poem in Veekshanam Onappathippu 2006. Almost all poems of Suresh nooranadu are post -modern.His collected works also comes under that category. Vallikkode Vikraman is now notable in the field of tv serials. He is the script writer of K.K. Rajeev serials in Miniscreen(asianet).Once he was a good poet,no doubt. Now he abandoned poetry. I like Pavithran theekkuni's poems. I have included his name. Adv. P. R. Bijuchandran 07:28, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you Bijuchandran. Pavithran Theekkuni is already included in the previous list. I will not neglect S. Jithesh as a cartoonist, but I am suspecious about his relevance as a poet. Hundreds of poets writing poetry today, but we have to select the most relevant names only, I think. I am sure you can contribute to this encyclopedia by writing more on the mentioned poets and other remarkable names. Raziakk 11:06, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Susmesh Chandroth is a good post-modern writer. I'm including his name in Post-modern fiction. His book 'D'(published by D.C Books) is a special one. Susmesh has written the script of film Pakal. Gireesh Puthenchery is the person who told me about the poetry of S. Jithesh. Jithesh's poem 'Mazha' which won the first prize in the contest organised by the Mathrubhumi weekly magazine in 90's. His book 'Nakshathrangale Pranayicha Oraal' reveals the beauty of enchanting diction.I have read philosophical thoughts and visions of Jithesh in Samakalika Malayalam Weekly. Very much impressive. See this - [1] Nileena joseph 07:00, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I will try to read S. Jithesh more. I will not argue against him if he has done some good works for I haven't any particular bias. I said so because several names like P. N. Gopeekrishnan, Sailan, Rammohan Paliath, Sreekumar Kariyad, Jayan K. C and S. Kannan are yet to be included. But before it we have to work more on Modern poets because several established writers haven't even a page in wikipedia. Let us work more. Thank you! Raziakk 07:58, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
U r right. Sailan is a good poet. I was a reader of his mini magazine Thakara. His book Sivakami is with me. Recently he published a poem in Mathrubhumi.I have read it. Jayan K.C is an American pravasi poet. His name is also familiar to me. But I 'm not familiar with Rammohan and Sreekumar. Please work more for wikipedia. Ur presence is a must in wikipedia. Those who love poetry and arts must do something inorder to increase informations on Malayalam literature. My best wishes. Nileena joseph 18:51, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
We have to note these two poets. Their poetry is very nice. Raakkilithan.....novin perumazhakkalam....! How is the lyrics ? It's written by Rafeeq Ahammed. His poems are superb. Please try to create a page ... Nileena joseph 16:43, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Quality-wise the article is a disaster; basically, it is nothing but a list of names. Literature is not exactly my field of interest, but its shameful to leave such an important article like that. On a sharp contrast, see the kind of work gone into Tamil literature. I am always wlling to help, and let me know what you think.-- Anoopkn ( talk) 13:41, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Names in the translators section were put back without any indication of notability. if they dont have articles, they need at least an external link or a reference to printed material, indicating their notability as translators into Malayalam. Please add a reference for each name added back. otherwise i will probably have to delete them per WMOS. Mercurywoodrose ( talk) 04:00, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Malayalam literature's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "Malabar":
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT ⚡ 01:49, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
