WikiPediAid added the following line to the article on Nov. 3 2004: @ night, it's top lights up all the way to the sky. I found it nonsensical and felt that it contributed nothing, as its meaning was ambiguous. Hope I'm not overstepping my bounds by taking it off - I mean, it's not vandalism, and the whole point of Wikipedia is to put your stuff up and have other people build on it, right? We'll see. Feel free to revert my revert and fix the syntax if you know what the intended meaning is. LockeShocke 23:33, Nov 3, 2004 (UTC)
Is this any use? –Hajor 05:47, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)
So what does the "in 2001" in "renovations=West & East Towers (1,948 rooms) in 2001" mean? The towers were built before that and the last remodels of the rooms I think were after that.

I think the Article should be moved to The Luxor. Altenhofen ( talk) 03:12, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
The statement in the article that "The total light output is rated at 41.5 gigacandela, or 30.2 billion lumens." cannot be true, reference or not. I'm about to remove it, for the reason described below.
First, candelas measure intensity and lumens measure power, which are two different things. However, lets skip over that part for now. I'll concentrate on the lumens figure. The stated combined wattage of the bulbs is 273,000 watts; I believe this is correct. I don't know the precise efficiency of the bulbs, but 100 lumens / watt is a good estimate, which would indicate that the lights provide 27.3 million lumens. An output of 30.2 million lumens is possible, but BILLION - impossible. Indeed, Wikipedia indicates that the maximum theoretical output per watt is 683 lumens, so the value of 30.2 billion is completely impossible.
In order to generate the stated lumen output, the Luxor would have to suck up 10% - 20% of the Hoover Dam's total power output! Larry ( talk) 15:48, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
With this edit I made revisions to the article to bring it up to date, improve readability, and structure it in a logical organization. As part of this update, citations of reliable sources have been added where they did not previously exist.
I see it as important to note that MGM Resorts International (the owner of Luxor Hotel and Casino) is a client of my employer, and thus, others should be aware that I have a potential conflict of interest. However, I feel that this has not gotten in the way of making the above changes in line with WP:NPOV, WP:RS, and WP:V. That said, I remain open to any ongoing discussion or thoughts in relation to these edits.
Looking into the future of the article, it could benefit from a select number of more recent photos. In the near future, I will have the opportunity to take a few photos of the Luxor in person with the intent of releasing them in accordance with Wikipedia’s image use policy. Any specific suggestions as to what photos would be most helpful? Cheers, Jeff Bedford ( talk) 18:29, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Please change "The Luxor is referenced in Frank Ocean's album Channel Orange." to "The Luxor is referenced in Frank Ocean's album Channel Orange in the song Pyramids.
The current page does not give readers clear enough information about how they could find the song quickly. Could be clearer with the actual song name.
The song includes the lyrics being referenced,
She's working at the pyramid tonight Working at the pyramid Working at the pyramid tonight

I changed the claim that the sky beam puts out 42.3 billion candela/lumens to 42.3 billion candela since candela and lumens are not equivalent units and since 42.3 billion lumens is impossible to get out of 273kW of total lamp power. I could not find any verification of this value in the source provided, which is honestly quite dubious in my opinion. That source also states that the beam uses 45 lamps, when everything else I've seen says 39. SLFubli ( talk) 04:11, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
You can see the Luxor on the map, as the square area at the same place as the red dot, but on the WEST side of the street. The dot is, incorrectly, positioned on the east side. 2601:602:9E80:12E0:FCCE:7A2A:C2F8:8C80 ( talk) 00:52, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
