The first sentence says that Lithuanian Americans are Americans who are of Lithuanian ancestry. Among the sports people not mentioned in this article are basketball players Arvydas Sabonis, Sarunas Marciulionis, hockey player Darius Kasparaitis, and wrestler Aksana (wrestler) (Živilė Raudonienė), who were born and raised in Lithuania, but have come to the United States. Are people who were born and raised in Lithuania, but moved permanently to the USA not Lithuanian Americans? Only a fairly small picture and caption mentioned the prominent ex-president of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus, until I came along and added him to the Prominent Lithuanian Americans list. He was born and raised in Lithuania but got his education at Illinois Institute of Technology in the USA and worked for the US Government practically his entire career until he moved to Lithuania to become its president. However, I do see Antanas Smetona, an early president of the Republic of Lithuania who then moved to the USA, in the Prominent Lithuanian Americans list. Most of the article seems to be about people who were born Americans and live in the USA, but who had one or more Lithuanian ancestors. People born in Lithuania almost always have one or more Lithuanian ancestors,and so according to the definition, if they permanently move to the USA or become its citizens, they should be Lithuanian Americans.
