This list also includes the four counties that would be included when water area is not included. This list? or that list? -- Wetman ( talk) 05:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC) reply

External links modified

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on List of the largest counties in the United States by area. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{ cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{ nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Ranking of Alaska's Boroughs

The ranking of Alaska's Boroughs in the list is in conflict with the last statement of the text above it: "The rankings in the below list reflect the rank each borough or census area would have if included with all counties and county-equivalent areas in the United States (up to #11)." Each of Alaska's Boroughs are ranked 1-22 on the list, but if the ranks were based on what they would be if they were included in the overall list, #12 Kusilvak Census Area would actually be #13 because San Bernardino County is larger than it and #13 Aleutians East Borough would actually be #17 since Coconino, Nye, and Elko Counties are all larger than it, etc.

Smallest counties

Wikipedia should have a list of the smallest counties, as well, and it should be linked from here. For complete trivial domination, of course. -- X883 ( talk) 06:14, 8 September 2020 (UTC) reply

Orange County

Should not be #106 on this list considering it's only 948 sq mi?? As stated in its wikipedia article. 2600:1008:B14E:524A:DC13:50AE:1614:942 ( talk) 04:43, 21 May 2023 (UTC) reply

Noticed this as well. Orange County is on the smaller end of California counties and nowhere close to being in the top 100 in the United States. 98.149.223.78 ( talk) 05:00, 19 June 2023 (UTC) reply

Parishes of Louisiana

No reference to Louisiana parishes is noted. Would they be considered as equivalent to counties or boroughs? Even so, the largest parish in Louisiana appears to be Plaquemines with 2,429 sq mi (6,291 km2) /info/en/?search=List_of_parishes_in_Louisiana#Listing but no mention is made of whether that includes water, so it would not seem to appear in this top 100 largest list. 24.28.72.167 ( talk) 19:12, 17 July 2023 (UTC) reply

Orange County, CA Table Entry

The square miles entered for Orange County are incorrect. Morbidobese ( talk) 03:02, 2 February 2024 (UTC) reply

The total area from which the Orange County, CA article lists the total area at 948 square miles, not the approximately 4300 square miles listed on the table on this table. Morbidobese ( talk) 03:07, 2 February 2024 (UTC) reply
