Need for list

Do we need this when we have Category:People from Florida? Recury 04:01, 22 March 2006 (UTC) reply

Name Change

Anyone opposed to moving this page to List of people from Florida (it currently is just a redirect to this page), most of the other lists in Category:Lists of people by U.S. state are in that format. Phydend 15:19, 30 December 2006 (UTC) reply

  • Since no one's replied and it's been 3 days, I'm going to move the page in the next day or two unless there's an objection. Phydend 01:32, 2 January 2007 (UTC) reply

Format Change

I changed the formatting of the page and added references. I'd been working on a cleanup of this list here (which I'm going to redirect here in the next day or two), but if anyone has a problem with how I changed it just ask. Phydend 05:05, 8 January 2007 (UTC) reply

Ok

Phydend move it (o wait you already did)i guess i am to late. EGAD1 04:55, 9 April 2007 (UTC) 04:55, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Politicians

I believe some sort of "Minimum notability standard" needs to be set for politicians. I see a former Mayor of Jacksonville is listed, with the only notability being is that he "lives in the area." This list can quickly explode out of control if all the Mayors in Florida are added. Gamweb ( talk) 20:22, 4 April 2009 (UTC) reply

Exactly. A person can't just "have an article" to be on this list. S/he must be notable outside of Florida. Pretty easy to see this for legislators and military. Probably a 3-star general/admiral would make it, definitely a 4-star one that is there. I've rm most of them.
This is a bit harder to see in the music world, ironically. How many "musicians" have the renown of a 3-star general? Very few, probably, but harder to measure.
