Need to add a city.

The city of New London, Tx is missing (pop. 998 and home of the school explosion in 1937) Jemsusan ( talk) 19:03, 29 August 2011 (UTC) reply

You overlooked Texhoma. 66.233.129.232 01:00, 22 July 2007 (UTC) Also what about Claude and Cactus? reply

Check for Missing Cities

I noticed that Bacliff, Texas has its own article, yet was not included in the list. I added it, even though it is classified as a CDP (Census Designated Place). Someone may want to check to see if there are other cities like it missing from the list. UrsaLinguaBWD ( talk) 20:39, 13 December 2007 (UTC) reply

I have an atlas with all incorporated towns in Texas in the index - I'll try to add the missing ones. Marlinite ( talk) 05:20, 15 August 2010 (UTC) reply

Please define the word 'city'. It seems you have added every town and settlement. Isn't a city a place with more than, say, 100 000 people living there?

No; "city" is a legal designation; any settlement that is incorporated as such carries this designation, regardless of population. Lothar The Terrible ( talk) 22:41, 31 August 2010 (UTC) reply

Eagle Lake needs to be added to the list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.50.59.247 ( talk) 17:54, 15 July 2011 (UTC) reply

communities

The Handbook of Texas http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/browse/where/communities/all?page=76 lists about 7500 "communities" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.253.137.154 ( talk) 18:16, 4 March 2011 (UTC) reply

Updated List

I just added to the article 245 cities I found based on the template pages for the 254 counties of Texas and deleted 175 communities that were not cities. I also resorted 24 cities to have the page alphabetized correctly (based on current standards given on that page), and removed all duplicate entries ( Baytown and Bulverde were the only two). I keep having to check and delete non-cities. Why are users adding towns and unincorporated communities to the city page? I have updated the page many times since my first update to this talk page. NewYorkeruser ( talk) 17:59, 3 March 2013 (UTC) reply

improved list?

How about doing a list like List of cities and towns in California? Seems that Illinois, North Carolina and Texas are the only ones without additional information, i.e. just names without population and other data. 85.217.34.203 ( talk) 18:15, 16 August 2014 (UTC) reply

960 cities?

There reads: There are 960 cities in the sections below.
I copied them to spreadsheet, and there are 963 entries (after removing ABC... headers). If there's three entries which are not cities, is there any way to find them? Not too easy, I think. 85.217.20.204 ( talk) 03:28, 8 June 2015 (UTC) reply
