I find it quite confusing that the date listed is the week *ending* date, rather than the date it first reached number one. This is espcially odd for multi-week number ones, as the date listed will be the one six days into its reign at the top. I think this was switched in around 2014, because that's the way the UK chart company's page does it: [1] But in fact, the weekly chart always has a begin and end date, and it would seem far more logical to just say "5 weeks beginning 29 January" etc. Note also that the 1990s page is a featured list, and at the time of featuring it listed everything under date reached #1, rather than six days later. My proposal is that we should switch back to week-commencing for all entries in all the decades. - Agree with this, and not sure why it hasn't been talked about more. IMO using the week ending date just makes it more confusing when trying to look up which song was actually at number one during which week. And what makes it all the more confusing is that the equivalent album list is in fact listed by the date the album reached number one. Not sure why the insistence on week ending date for this chart; as you pointed out, the official chart site lists both depending on the page used. Yóshee007 ( talk) 20:08, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
I was just wondering why Prince Andrew Is a Sweaty Nonce by The Kunts is missing from this list, given that it was an Indie No 1 in June 2022 as evidenced here. The artist has just had another No 1 with Scrap The Monarchy, but under a different name, "The Krown Jewelz". Does the artist still go into the "Artists with the most number ones" section?
