The term native american

Personally I don't think it should be used here since it implies that Americans (though aboriginals) used it as a food source instead of first peoples from any location within its range. First peoples in BC also used it. Khono ( talk) 08:33, 3 February 2008 (UTC) reply

Indian word for Columbia Lily?

The main page of this article could be improved if the chinook or salish word for the common Columbia Lily could somehow be found for it. Can't it be looked up? I have seen those lilies all over the place when I used to go hiking in the springtime in the Columbia River Gorge, and - my goodness, it surprises me - I didn't know they were edible! If any part of it was used as a foodstuff or spice, or some other article of trade (like using the flowerhead or pistils as a paint pigment), I would think it could be located in the travel logs maintained by Lewis and Clark. 216.99.201.143 ( talk) 04:40, 16 December 2011 (UTC) reply
