COI Tag

I recently spoke to a wikipedia helper at the online help desk as to why an article I contributed to had a notice at the top saying "A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view". They explained that my username was very similar to the articles name. By my bad judgement I thought the article you write about had to come under the same name as the username. However, they told me that if I changed my username to my proper name I could remove the tag as long as I leave an explanation in the edit summary box. I forgot to mention it in the summary box so the COI tag has been replaced again.

Could you please consider removing it, as in my view, it no longer applies.

Thanks for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BenMmc1510 ( talkcontribs) 04:09, 18 September 2017 (UTC) reply
