Since a raft of new information was added to this article by a now-blocked user, and it was completely unsourced, I'd like to revert to a previous version of the article and move the new information to the talk page where it can be added back to the article bit by bit, with sources. Hmm…not entirely sure about this. Seems that the user was blocked for an entirely unrelated reason, so unless there's a reason to doubt the veracity of the material added (is there?), I don't understand why it should be entirely removed. - Pete 22:23, 24 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Well, all the information may be true, but it still needs sources. Some of it seems like original research. It would be easier to add the information back piece by piece rather than try to untangle the current mess. The only issue with the user being blocked is that s/he's not here to clean up the mess him or herself or tell us where the information came from. Are you willing to add sources to the article? I did some cleanup, but all the links still need to checked for redirects and possible fixing of redlinks. There are lots of big claims of the region's uniqueness with no souces, which I tagged. I guess my biggest problem of with the information as it is presented is that the whole thing reads like an ad for the Klamath Mountains, if that's possible. It might be well to run a few Google searches to see if any of the material has been copied and pasted from somewhere. Katr67 22:48, 24 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Your point makes more sense now that I see it spelled out. I think a wholesale reversion of a big collection of edits is a pretty extreme step, so in my opinion it's more important than usual to spell out the reasons in detail. On a cursory look though, your edits are pretty good; I don't know much about the region, and am not inclined to put a whole lot of time into it anytime soon…so if you go ahead with your plan, I won't stand in the way. - Pete 23:54, 24 April 2007 (UTC) reply

I was nice nice to talk today. Susan McDougall is indeed the person for Mount Rainier's 17 conifers. I suggest that you cite her tree book and change the WIKIPEDIA statement to "challenged by a area on Mount Rainier."

Some other details about the article: 1. change ' unique flora" to "floristic region.' 2. Change 'Klamath-Siskiyou forests" to " Klamath-Siskiyou Region' or 'forests of the Klamath-Siskiyou Region" 3. The Eel, van Duzen, and Mad rivers are not in the Klamath Mountains but the North Coast 4. Add the Sacramento River to those of the Klamath Mountains 5. The article says now that the total area is 9,882 sq mi, citing Peakbagger, but this report (p. 2) says 12,000 sq mi. I would think that the area of the whole ecoregion, at 18,740 sq mi, is too much. I am removing the section quoted below as no reference is provided linking to anything providing evidence that the name of these mountains originates from a Tamil language description of their characteristics, also grammar and style not consistent with English language Wikipedia articles

Origin[edit]

The word Klamath have been originated from Tamil Language, which gives the exact meaning of this mountain's characteristic.

Kla[Kalam] (காலம்) means - Time/Season/Climate, Math or Mathum or Matrrum (மாத்து,மாத்தும்,மாற்றும்) means - Change.

Kalam + Matrrum = Kalam + Mathum = Klamath, காலம் + மாற்றும் = காலம் + மாத்தும் = காலமாத்து.

It means this mountain changes its Climate,Season very frequently.
