Notability

This is a serious article regarding Jon Abbate's career at Wake Forest. It should not be deleted, I have all the information from reputable sources. I thought it would be a nice tribute to Jon, and could fill in all the people who do not know about Jon.

The Wikipedia guidelines for biographies include the following:

   * Athletes:
         o Competitors who have played in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming and tennis
         o Competitors who have played or competed at the highest level in amateur sports.

Jon Abbate has most certainly fulfilled the second criterion and is now signed to play with a professional team. I agree that the article needs a lot of work (I did a little to tidy it up), but it's getting better!

I agree, it just needs some work. I am not a Wake Forrest Fan, but I feel this article should stay, it just has to be brought up an other level or two.

Abbate has additional notability as the main subject of a feature film The 5th Quarter [1] which is being released on March 25th, 2010.

NFL career

The article currently says that Abbate was picked up by both the Redskins and the Saints "this offseason" with no source cited. I have not been able to confirm this. Can anyone enlighten? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.17.118.110 ( talk) 04:22, 16 March 2011 (UTC) reply
