I originally stopped by this page because it contained the word 'ironically,' which generally should avoided on Wikipedia, so I deleted the phrase that contained it. After I pressed the publish button, I also noticed some capitalization errors, and since there's a note to not change the lede without consensus, I'm writing here first, hopefully to accomplish that. First, army ranks such as "second lieutenant" and offices such as "governor of Missouri" (and Kentucky) should not be capitalized unless they are part of titles like in the infobox or directly precede a name. (Governor Marmaduke, but John Marmaduke, governor of Missouri.) Additionally, the word "federal", as used in the first paragraph, should not be capitalized.

"Famous" should not be used to describe the duel in the first paragraph - Burr and Hamilton had a famous duel, but this one is unknown to those who do not study the Civil War or – perhaps – are not from Missouri, in other words, 99.9% of Wikipedia readers (even those in the U.S.) Finally, there are many better ways of ending the first paragraph than referring to Marmaduke's "actions on September 6."

As you can probably tell, I'm here for the grammar. I have no problems at all with the content – and it's a very interesting article.
