Magruder Elementary School

This probably needs to be completely rewritten after reading Settles' new biography. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.11.34.74 ( talk) 18:57, 28 May 2009 (UTC) reply

There is an elementary school named Magruder Elementary in York County near the its border with Williamsburg in the area know as Queen's Lake. I’m guessing it’s named after John B. Magurder. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.174.25.7 ( talk) 13:08, 16 March 2007 (UTC). reply

Date/place of birth?

Douglas Southall Freeman says that Magruder was born at Winchester, Virginia, on August 15 1810. ("Lee's Lieutenants", volume I, page 15, footnote.) His source is Cullum's "Biographical Register of Officers and Graduates of the United States Military Academy," which is probably reasonably reliable. Is there a source for the 1807 birth date and the Port Royal location? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.160.250.253 ( talk) 13:51, 5 August 2010 (UTC) reply

What uniform is that?

Magruder served in three armies - the US Army, the Confederate States Army and the Mexican Army. This picture shows him in uniform, but does not say which uniform. 86.179.62.95 ( talk) 19:34, 15 July 2011 (UTC) reply
