"Isolation is most commonly used when a patient has a viral illness"?

Am working on Infection control right now, but when I get a chance I'll come back to address this statement (quoted from this article's lede) more fully. I'm not confident that this statement is true, and even if it is, regional variation would make it untrue in many settings. For example, in areas where tuberculosis (especially highly resistant forms) is a major problem, isolation for suspected tuberculosis is prominent. -- Scray ( talk) 02:14, 5 December 2009 (UTC) reply

Illustration misleading

is this for real?

Only the (ineffective) face mask (N95 respirator, seemingly) , long unprotected hair, semi-clothed body, no gloves, open shoes, etc.

-> Let us remove this OSHA pic.

Request Merge

Merge this page with Quarantine. same topic. CityOfSails2 ( talk) 02:52, 23 April 2020 (UTC) reply

Do not merge since both articles state quite clearly (in the introduction) that the topics are different, and explain what the difference is. -- bonadea contributions talk 15:45, 23 April 2020 (UTC) reply

Do not merge for the reasons stated by @ Bonadea:. I find this suggested merge to be muddle-headed and dangerous. Magnovvig ( talk) 08:59, 25 April 2020 (UTC) reply

Do not merge for the reasons stated by @ Bonadea:. This merge is careless and I feel, as well as Bonadea, that they are clearly two separate topics and should not be merged, especially at this time. wikepediathefreeencyclopedia1 ( talk) 08:23, 27 April 2020 (UTC) reply

Do not merge per reasoning above at the time of this post. Djm-leighpark ( talk) 20:40, 3 May 2020 (UTC) reply

Closed as do not merge since there's consensus, and I agree that the merge doesn't make sense. Kudu  ~I/O~ 22:36, 13 June 2020 (UTC) reply

I think that the Importance section should be backed up with specific details. The transmission methods are defined but still hard to understand; using specific examples such as mosquitos as vector transmitters will benefit the section and give the readers a better understanding of the transmission types.
