None of the listed communities appear to be official names locations in Louisiana. Can someone please explain? -- Jmabel | Talk 20:03, September 6, 2005 (UTC)

They are real places, listed on many maps for hundreds of years (look in any good atlas at the section of St. Bernard Parish beween the Mississippi River and Lake Borgne and you should see at least several of them). What do you mean as "official" names? Possibly the US census lumps them in with other larger St. Bernard cities or towns for census purposes? I would have introduced a history section where I spoke briefly of the Canarian emigration to the Americas from the Canarian who settled first in this continent after getting off the ships of Christopher Columbus to the late fifteenth century until migrants who settled in the early eighties of the twentieth century, and then I had already spoken of the Canary current descendant communities and immigrant communities canaries are still current in the Americas and who have not mixed much with population. It would also be interesting to talk a section of the canarian's influence in the Americas such as Canary contributions to Puerto Rican accent (book "La herencia linguistica de Canarias en Puerto Rico" by Manuel Alvaerz Nazario, 1972) or the liberators of Hispanoamerica , many of whom were from the Canarian ancestries.

I think that the Isleños from United States would should have his own Wikipedia´s article, because them (the Isleños from Texas and Louisiana) have the culture of his ancestries and it is differents to the mayority culture from United States, while that the most of the Spanish American are more assimilated to the culture from this country. In fact, we can compare to the Isleños with groups as the Cajuns, the Gullah or the Pennsylvania Dutch that also are groups culturally isolated. Even, with Californios or Nuevomexicanos groups, that also descended of Spanish settlers. I already wrote many editions in this article, mostly in the Isleños from United States seccion, but I think that them would should have his own article. We know what the term means "Isleños" in the Americas and the Isleños from United States seccion is already very big and I would like include this information in a article separated, leaving in the Isleños article only a general introduction to the subject, speaking Isleñas communities in the United States generally, but not into historical events or other details.. I want ask permission before doing so (because the various subsections of that section began to be written by others) and know the opinion of you.-- Isinbill ( talk) 00:55, 10 January 2012 (UTC) reply

I have changed the entry of the article because it can lead to some confusion. Isleño is first and foremost one of the two terms to name inhabitants of Canary Islands. In this article only their descendants in the New World are included, I dind't write that in the article. I think it is correct to have two articles, Canarian people subject has its own article and should be split apart from this, because of the different evolution of these communities. -- Bentaguayre ( talk) 22:32, 12 July 2012 (UTC) reply

In the course of editing some idiomatic problems (stemming from translation) I have removed the following run-on and parenthetical text until it can be determined exactly what is meant to be said and how it might better fit into the narrative:

(leaving behind the Canarian emigration to Latin America, which in the twentieth century (from the 1900s until 1970) became to the archipelago in the second most important Autonomous Community of Spain in the number of immigrants in that place after Galicia, being reduced from the 70 to the third Spanish region in number of immigrant in Latin America after Madrid and Galicia, with the combination of Canarian emigration to Europe and Latin America and from the 80's, with the reduction of Canarian emigration)

As it is, such a long, nested parenthetical construct pretty much renders the rest of the text unreadable.
