Expansion and organization ideas

The last two items in the History section - about the college and commuter rail are not history. They should be moved to another section, perhaps a misc info or worked into the overall summary of the article. Myersj 03:51, 12 December 2006 (UTC) reply

Good idea this page needs some more sections. Maybe a section on transportation. The bullet point history could be improved into paragraphs with a bit more detail. Some images would be nice as well. Thanks for the work. Hey maybe somthing about how Hyde Park got it's name - I am curious about that. Markco1 04:00, 12 December 2006 (UTC) reply

I am working on notable residents (or former residents) of Hyde Park. I have added Felix Arroyo and am trying to understand the wiki footnotes so I can fix that. Purplemouse 19:10, 16 January 2007 (UTC)purplemouse reply

More ideas for addition: Mother Brook linked in a Resources? section. The Thompson Center is the? only campground for physically disbled mentally challenged children on the east Coast? Readville as a section of Hyde Park. Cleary Square is the main business district. Wolcott Square in Readville is another. Hyde Park Cowboys (formerly Billy's Cowboys?) Semi-pro EFL football team. Hyde Park

I would question Hyde Park being considered the most affluent neighborhood in Boston. In the city Beacon Hill and maybe the South End would be more affluent. Among the outlying neighborhoods, West Roxbury would be considered more affluent.

Also, the South End and parts of the Back Bay are known as the neighborhoods with the highest gay population.

Hyde Park Residents

Mark Clinton links to the wrong person. Does the correct page exist? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dschultz ( talkcontribs) 17:39, 26 April 2008 (UTC) reply

Al Leppo is a joke entry and should be removed. Charlie Senior should be added as notable for founding Hyde Park Jr. AA and having a diamond at Kelly Field named after him, amongst other accomplishments. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.220.69.226 ( talk) 19:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Page moved from "Hyde Park, Massachusetts" to "Hyde Park, Boston, Massachusetts"

This is following the convention for other places that formerly were separate municipalities but now are neighborhoods of larger cities. Other examples:

Added sections as part of Wikipedia Education Program

I kept most of the content with one correction. I added the following sections to expand the depth of page. Community Activism Urban Development and Policies Housing Community Resources The purpose is to highlight how this urban community joins together for different purposes. I added facts to the Sections ~ History, Demographics, Housing, and Government. This is for course work that is part of Wikipedia Education Program. I would appreciate edit suggestions.

NPOV tag

I've gone ahead and tagged this article for WP:NPOV concerns. Among other issues, I don't think a community activism section is necessary and/or appropriate and the sentence "In the 1970s, desegregation busing of the Boston Public Schools caused an explosion in public activism" is one hell of a line.
